Somewhere in this classic Hyde Park home’s past, a poorly designed and executed addition was constructed at rear of the home. The project objectives were to create a larger kitchen and replace an aging deck with an outdoor living space that is more appropriate to the home’s character. With the help of architect Mary Cassinelli, we went to work righting the wrongs that someone inflicted on this otherwise beautiful home.
The old addition was removed to make way for a new addition that expanded the kitchen, a side entry, and a covered rear porch. The beautiful design and attention to the use of the correct materials ensured that the addition blended perfectly with the existing home.
Not just a pretty face, the interior portion of this addition-renovation created a spacious new Kitchen, much-needed Mudroom, a side Entry, and a rear porch that features a built-in grill.
