Farmhouse Kitchen in Hyde Park

This Hyde Park addition and kitchen remodel is unique and had its own set of challenges. To tackle them head-on, we teamed up with our friends at Architect Plus and went to work. Our clients’ primary goals were to expand and modernize their kitchen, add some connected family room space, and create a place for casual family dining. The design solution would also have to respect the architecture of their vintage 100-year-old Hyde Park Tudor home.

The new kitchen features a large island, Carrera marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, and refrigerated drawers. The island includes seating along its length, so kids or guests can relax and engage during casual entertaining. Handmade ceramic tile on the backsplash harkens back to the home’s vintage beginnings. The double ovens and induction cooktop offer more modern flexibility for cooking and baking, and a beverage refrigerator under the counter quietly keeps the families favorite drinks at the perfect temperature. Gorgeous hardwood floors, a tiled fireplace hearth, and custom built-in cabinetry beg you to sit and stay awhile. The beautifully chosen paint scheme is as comfortable as sunny spring day.
